By nature, my primary way of perceiving the world is visually. What I conceive, what I visualize (strangely enough), what I dream, is either through my external eyes or through my inner eye. When I close my eyes, when I dream, daydream, think, wish, project myself, I see. It follows, that the way I learn, create and relate to the world is largely through my tactile and visual senses.

When I began learning what computers could do, it was fascinating to me. There were new ways to accomplish what I clumsily could do by hand. No, it's not the same, but I'm talking about repetitive and production work that can be accomplished without much effort or fanfare (or a big hole in my pocket book) with the aid of the personal computer.

I have to admit I can be lured into thinking machines can do more than I can do, so I have to keep that in balance. A hand drawn image has a quality a machine could never match, but that same image can be reproduced thousands of times, or manipulated in interesting ways without affecting, changing or damaging the original, with the help of the computer and without so much as aligning the sheet of paper on the scanner bed.
